Former Astros, Yankees legend Roger Clemens to throw out first pitch before ALCS Game 1

A seven-time Cy Young award winner, Clemens spent the first 13 seasons of his legendary career with the Boston Red Sox from 1984-96 before playing with the Toronto Blue Jays for two years in 1997 and 1998. He was traded to the Yankees in February 1999 and would suit up for the Bronx Bombers through the 2003 campaign, earning two World Series titles, two All-Star honors and his sixth Cy Young award.

Clemens signed with the Astros in January 2004, won his final Cy Young award that year (at 42 years old) and made his 10th and 11th All-Star teams in 2004 and 2005. He wrapped his run in Houston in 2006 and concluded his MLB career with a 17-start campaign back with the Yankees in 2007.

While he was born in Dayton, OH, Clemens attended Spring Woods High School in Houston and later attended multiple colleges in the Lone Star State including the University of Texas at Austin. Clemens was selected 19th overall by the Red Sox out of the University of Texas at Austin during the 1983 MLB June Amateur Draft.

Though he's widely considered to be one of the greatest pitchers in MLB history, Clemens' steroid controversies have kept him from being voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
