Signing as a free agent in 2020, Wisdom made his debut at Wrigley during the 2020 season. In just over 400 games, he smacked 257 hits, including 84 home runs, 56 doubles, 196 RBI, and posted a .208/.290/.462 slash line with a .752 OPS with the Cubs.
Wisdom’s best season with the Cubs came in 2021. During that season, he posted a .823 OPS while launching 28 home runs, 13 doubles, and 61 RBI in just 106 games. From 2021 to 2023, he averaged 25 home runs and 58 RBI per season.
Wisdom will arguably join the most successful team in the KBO and look to help the Tigers win their second straight KBO championship and thirteenth in team history.
Although Wisdom will be leaving the majors, if the righthander can find his power stroke once again in Korea, don’t be surprised to see the California native return to MLB eventually.
