Former Mets acting GM Zack Scott found not guilty of DWI charges

Scott was placed on administrative leave by the Mets after he was arrested at 4:00 a.m. on Aug. 31 in White Plains, N.Y., several hours after attending an event at team owner Steve Cohen’s home in Connecticut.

Scott was named acting GM in January 2021 after Jared Porter was fired following an ESPN report that the former GM has sent explicit text messages to a female reporter while with the Chicago Cubs in 2016. He pleaded not guilty at a court appearance in September and his court date for a non-jury trial began in December.

Prior to joining the Mets as an assistant general manager, Scott worked with the Boston Red Sox for 17 years.
