The Cincinnati Reds sent left-handed relief pitcher Taylor Rogers in their deal for third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes on Wednesday afternoon.
On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Pirates traded Rogers to the Chicago Cubs
The Reds traded for Rogers from the San Francisco Giants before the season started, but he struggled all season. Despite his 2.45 ERA, he allowed 15 of his 26 inherited runners to score, which is a career high.
The Cubs are certainly hoping they can get Rodgers back to his old self. Chicago is currently 63-45 and one game back of the Milwaukee Brewers for the National League Central Division lead.
The Reds are 7 1/2 games back of the divison, but just three games back of the third and final National League Wild Card spot.
