Former Toronto Blue Jays catcher Nick Raposo has been claimed off of waivers by the Seattle Mariners after being designated for assignment by the Blue Jays last week.

The Blue Jays decided to designate Raposo for assignment, ultimately placing him on waivers because they needed to make room on their 40-man roster for Yimi Garcia, who they officially signed to a two-year contract that same day.
