The New York Mets created a very special moment on the field ahead Tuesday night's game against the San Diego Padres. With only 12 games remaining heading into the contest, the Mets need every win they can get.

Just one day after they saw the National League east division title slip through their fingers, the struggling Mets will continue chasing a Wild Card spot in this year's playoffs. The Philadelphia Phillies have now won the NL East division in back-to-back years, and Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto will look to capture consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 2015 and 2016.

Lindor, now in his fifth season with the team, has shown the fanbase why he's worth every penny of his 10-year, $341 million contract. While he's one of the best shortstops in the league, both from an offensive and defensive standpoint, its his personality (and smile) that's shown through in the public eye even when the team has struggled on the field.

Lindor has never been afraid to express the love for his family. With his wife, Katia, and his three children Kalina, Amapola, and Koa showing up on broadcasts, cheering their husband and father on from the stands.

On Tuesday, it was Lindor doing the cheering for his wife on the field. Lindor's wife was the special guest performer of the National Anthem, inside Citi Field, performing the song on violin.

Lindor, with their youngest, Koa in hand, had an ear-to-ear smile on his face, as he and the kids cheered on (Katia) Lindor.

Lindor's wife may have been a good luck charm ahead of Tuesday's game, as Lindor would homer less than an hour later. In the bottom of the second-inning, Lindor smashed home run No. 27 on the season.

The Mets would go on to win 8-3, and now hold a record of 78-73 with 11 games remaining in the regular season. They currently sit in the third and final NL Wild Card spot, just two games ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Lindor and the Mets will take on the Padres again on Wednesday night at 7:10 p.m. EDT. The Mets have been known to latch on to notable good-luck charms during past winning streaks, but the world will have to wait and see if Lindor's wife's National Anthem will have the same impact that the McDonalds' mascot, Grimace had.
