The Milwaukee Brewers are currently on the road facing off against the San Diego Padres in the first game of their three-game series.
Of course, it has been a great season thus far for the Brewers as they currently hold a 95-61 record, which is the best record in the MLB and has helped them clinch the National League Central division as the regular season winds down.
For Milwaukee, they had their ace Freddy Peralta on the mound on Monday night in San Diego who allowed an early run in the bottom of the first inning.
Despite this, the Brewers were able to score three runs in the second to take a 3-1 lead before the Padres added another run to cut the lead to 3-2 after a home run by Jose Iglesias.
While the Brewers currently lead the Padres 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, it was another great start for Peralta as he pitched five innings where he allowed four hits, two earned runs and struck out six.
With those six strikeouts, the 29-year-old ace was able to reach 200 strikeouts for the third consecutive season as he has put together another stellar campaign and he also joined some elite company in Brewers’ history.

By recording 200 strikeouts for the third consecutive season, Peralta joined Corbin Burnes and Yoani Gallardo as the only two pitcher in Brewers’ history to accomplish the feat.

This is an incredible milestone for Peralta who has put together another incredible season as the ace of the Brewers that has him in the running to win his first NL Cy Young award this season.
So far this season, the 29-year-old right-hander has posted a 17-6 record, which is the most wins by any pitcher in the MLB this season, with a 2.68 ERA with 201 strikeouts.
Milwaukee will now look to hold on for a victory over San Diego on Monday night and give Peralta his 18th victory of the season on the mound on the same night he made franchise history.
