The Los Angeles Dodgers made a splash earlier this offseason by signing All-Star closer Edwin Díaz and seemingly could have another big move up their sleeve before Spring Training begins in February.

The Dodgers have been linked to a wide range of available players, including Kyle Tucker, Cody Bellinger, Bo Bichette and Brendan Donovan, among others.

Either of the aforementioned names would help the Dodgers accomplish their goal of adding a position player who is good on both sides of the ball, but the club also won’t hesitate to further bolster their pitching staff if the opportunity arises.

According to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic, the Dodgers are among the teams interested in Milwaukee Brewers ace Freddy Peralta:

The Freddy Peralta talks are about to resume in earnest. Both New York clubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox are among the teams showing interest.

Peralta has been one of the better starting pitchers in the National League for several years now and is coming off his best season yet.

The right-hander went 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 10.4 strikeouts per nine in 176.2 innings pitched across 33 starts last year. He earned a second career All-Star selection and placed fifth in NL Cy Young Award voting.

Peralta is set to make $8 million this year before reaching free agency after the 2026 season.

If the Brewers move forward with trading the 29-year-old, it signals that they weren’t confident about their chances of re-signing him and would rather get something back in return now rather than risk him potentially walking away for nothing.

Would Freddy Peralta fit with Dodgers?

As it currently stands, the Dodgers have a loaded starting rotation that is set to include some combination of Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki, Emmet Sheehan, Gavin Stone and River Ryan.

If the Dodgers were to acquire Peralta, they almost certainly would have to part with at least one of their starting pitchers along with other prospects.
