Giants activate 3B Evan Longoria from 10-day IL

On Saturday, the San Francisco Giants activated third baseman Evan Longoria off the 10-day injured list.

Longoria has been out of action since July 5, nursing a left oblique strain.

Before going down with an injury, Longoria batted .242/.331/.462 with eight home runs and 18 RBI over 44 games with the Giants.

The 36-year-old spent seven games with Triple-A Sacramento on a rehab assignment. In seven games with Sacramento, Longoria batted .333/.360/.417 with eight hits and a walk over 25 plate appearances.

On Saturday, the Giants also reinstated right-handed pitcher Jakob Junis from the 15-day injured list and placed pitcher Mauricio Llovera and infielder Brandon Crawford on the IL.

Junis hasn't pitched since June 10, out with a hamstring injury. The 29-year-old is 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA over seven starts with the Giants this season.

Llovera heads to the 15-day IL with a right flexor strain. He's pitched in 17 games for the Giants this season, sporting a 4.41 ERA over 16.1 innings.

The Giants placed Crawford on the 10-day IL with right knee inflammation. The three-time All-Star is batting .215/.297/.332 with five home runs and 33 RBI over 72 games this season.
