Hyeseong Kim was activated off the 10-day injured list and added onto the expanded Los Angeles Dodgers roster for September.

MLB roster rules permit teams to add one position player and one pitcher for the final month of the regular season. Last year the Dodgers added Justin Wrobleski and Andy Pages.

Both players are currently on the Dodgers roster, and the team now has Kim back for the first time since he went on the injured list July 29 because of left shoulder bursitis.

Kim had been playing through the shoulder injury for at least one week, and it clearly compromised his swing and in turn results at the plate.

The 26-year-old didn’t begin a rehab assignment until Aug. 21, and went on to play in nine games with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Kim made three starts in left field for the Comets, two at shortstop, two as their designated hitter, one in center field and one at second base.

Kim went 11-for-34 with one double, one triple and three RBI during his rehab assignment.

During his time with the Dodgers, Kim has hit .304/.338/.406 with six doubles, one triple, two home runs and 15 RBI. He additionally has 12 stolen bases without gettin caught.

Hyeseong Kim potentially playing left field for Dodgers

Kim’s return comes as the Dodgers continue to search for consistent production from left field. Roberts mentioned Kim as one of the options the Dodgers will consider to play the position.

In terms of the outfield, Kim has appeared in 16 games in center field for the Dodgers this season, but otherwise has not played left field since 2020 in the KBO.
