The Braves might be amid one of their worst seasons in the last 40 years, but it should bring everyone great joy in knowing they still own the New York Mets.
Last night’s win over Atlanta’s division rival featured several notable performances from some encouraging sources. Michael Harris II continues his scorching hot summer, racking up three more hits, including the game-tying double in the eighth inning. The Braves centerfielder now has five straight multi-hit games, the most since Andrelton Simmons in 2014.
Michael Harris II has five consecutive multi-hit games. No #Braves player has had six in a row since Andrelton Simmons in July 2014.

But the star of the show was Ozzie Albies , who desperately needed a game like Thursday night. He also had three hits, including a home run and brought in Michael Harris for the game-winning RBI with a double. Albies might be playing for his 2026 job over these final six weeks, and it seems as if the message has been heard throughout the entire clubhouse.
On the bump, Bryce Elder was phenomenal as well, going seven strong and allowing just three earned runs against a very good New York Mets offense. He’s another guy who is certainly playing for a spot on the roster looking ahead to 2026.
Additionally, Matt Olson ‘s streak of consecutive games is starting to get really impressive. He’s currently played in 741 straight games, by far the most among active players, and he’s starting to encroach on some legends of the game. By next week, he will pass Pete Rose (745 games) for the 12th longest streak of consecutive games played.
