The New York Mets are going through it right now. This team needs Juan Soto back badly. It’s really hard to believe a team with that much star talent on the roster could even lose five games in a row. Well, they have doubled that and are heading down a path that leads to disaster.

The season is barely 20 games in, and the Mets are six games back of the final National League Wild Card spot already. They have plenty of time to figure things out, but one MLB insider saw this coming and thinks that it may never work out.

“My concern all along was that it was too much ‘new,” Ken Rosenthal said on Foul Territory. “A lot of new players. And I felt, even going back to January, I wrote that it could take them some time to gel, and that ultimately might be what the case is here.”

“Without Soto, they are 3-11. So, they don’t even have their best player. Then they have players unfamiliar with the pressure of playing in New York. All of these things are coming together.”

Playing in New York is definitely not easy. You are in argubaly he most popular city in the world with an intense fanbase that demands winning. If you do not bring a winning product to the table, then you will 100% hear it from the fans in not just the city, but the entire state.

The Yankees are a winning team right now, but they haven’t won a World Series title since 2009. As for the Mets, it’s been since 1986. Fans in NY do not want to wait any longer for a Mets championship. However, with this roster, there might be a better chance of them blowing it up quickly before they even get close to winning a pennant.
