Jesus Sanchez Acquired By Houston Astros

Minutes after bringing Carlos Correa back to town, the Houston Astros acquired Outfielder Jesus Sanchez from the Miami Marlins. He is hitting .256 with 10 home runs and 36 RBI. Will this move help put the Houston Astros over the top?

Can Jesus Sanchez Fill a Void?

Sanchez will help improve Houston’s outfield. The uncertainty regarding Yordan Alvarez’s health made this a good move. Houston has massively upgraded its offense at the 2025 MLB Trade Deadline. Astros Center Fielder Jake Myers has also not played in nearly a month as he battles a calf injury. The former Marlins outfielder will provide Houston’s outfield with stability until they can get their players back on the diamond.

Final Thoughts

The new addition will enter a far different atmosphere in Houston. Miami’s atmosphere is low-stress with no fans attending home games. Houston has a championship pedigree and expects success. Only time will tell if the outfielder will succeed in the pressure cooker this summer/fall.
