The Tampa Bay Rays can use as much good news as possible these days. On Thursday, they got a big pick-me-up as right fielder Josh Lowe is back from spending time on the injured list.
Lowe was immediately penciled into the Thursday lineup by manager Kevin Cash as the Rays wrapped up their series against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
In his final minor league tune-up before rejoining Tampa Bay, Lowe went 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk for Triple-A Durham on Wednesday. Lowe then took about a three-hour ride from Rochester, N.Y., to Toronto, according to MLB.com.

Lowe gets to take the place of Travis Jankowski. The Rays put Jankowski on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain.
“I'm not going to go out there and try to do too much, but it sucks watching from the bench when you're hurt and you know that you can help a team win,” Lowe said on Thursday. “That's not really fun, to sit there and go through that and watch them struggle. You want to be there with the team."
Cash will be keeping an eye on Lowe's play, making sure that no injury flare-ups happen. Lowe was out since Opening Day as he dealt with a Grade 2 right oblique strain. He had plenty of injuries in the 2024 season, so here's hoping Lowe can avoid more going forward.
