New York Mets Right Fielder Juan Soto has had a start to his career for the ages. He is in great company on the eve of his 1,000th career game later today. He has 212 home runs and 819 walks during his MLB career. Soto joined Ted Williams and Frank Thomas as the only players in league history with 200+ home runs and 800+ walks at the time of their 1,000th career games.

Soto moved from the Yankees to the Mets during the offseason. He signed a 15-year $765 million contract with the Mets this offseason. That is the most lucrative contract in league history. He is one of the league’s best players but has not lived up to the hype in 2025. He is hitting .238 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI this year. How will the star player’s next 1,000 games go?

He finished 2nd in Rookie of the Year voting, is a five-time Silver Slugger, and a four-time MLB All-Star. He also has five top-10 finishes in MVP voting. He also helped guide the Nationals to the 2019 World Series . His career has included stints with the Nationals, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, and New York Mets.
