In November, Major League Baseball will hand out the Hank Aaron Award, given to one player from the AL and NL who was considered the best offensive player in their respective league. Both input from a committee of select Hall of Famers, and a fan vote, will be taken into account for this year’s winners. Voting for the award, which opened up on October 6, included 20 players and headlined by superstars and likely MVP finalists.

American League nominees

Here’s a look at the AL nominees, per the league:

To little shock, the list includes Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh, the two American League home run leaders.

Junior Caminero, who hit 45 home runs this season, is also among the nominees. Jose Ramirez, who blasted 30 home runs and finished tied for second overall in stolen bases (44), is the lone nominee for the Guardians.

The Blue Jays were the lone team to place two, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer, among the 10.

National League nominees

Shohei Ohtani and NL home run leader Kyle Schwarber headline the National League side.

Ohtani will look for his second straight NL Hank Aaron Award win.

The nominees for the NL include two 30-30 players, Juan Soto and Corbin Carroll. New York (NL) and Arizona placed two among the 10, as Pete Alonso and Geraldo Perdomo are also nominees.
