I’ve made my stance on Jurickson Profar quite clear. In an ideal world, I would like to see him never play another game in a Braves uniform.
Let’s not beat around the bush: Jurickson Profar stole $42 million dollars. He’s been a below average player his entire career, decided to cheat, and parlayed that into a multi-year deal from the Braves, who may be left with a 2007 Honda Accord rather than the 2025 Mercedes they were expecting. It’s honestly pretty shocking that, in these instances, contracts can’t be voided because it’s past the point of shady business, and nobody associated with the organization — players, fans, coaches, or executives — should be happy about it.
Unfortunately, this is not that ideal world. The Braves left field platoon of Alex Verdugo and Eli White has quickly turned into a nightmare. They’ve become so horrendous that replacing them with just an average bat would feel like the Braves added prime Barry Bonds, and Jurickson Profar is certainly providing some hope he can be more than that with his performance in Gwinnett.
Entering Friday night, Profar was hitting .417 over his three games with the Stripers. But with a four-hit performance yesterday, including two home runs, that average is now up to .529 with a 1.491 OPS.

Providing there are no rainouts between now and then, Jurickson Profar is set to return to the Braves on July 2nd. And, even though he’s going to have to do a lot to win over a large chunk of Braves Country, that day can’t get here soon enough.
