Kyle Schwarber Ignites Social Media With Mammoth Home Run

Less than two weeks into the 2025 MLB season, and we've already witnessed some monster home runs.

One of those tape measure shots occurred Tuesday night, when the Philadelphia Phillies took on the Atlanta Braves.

In the top of the fifth inning, Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber absolutely crushed a Chris Sale fastball well over Truist Park's right centerfield wall.

"Wow! That's a long one," Phillies play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy said on the call. "Off the wall of the Chop House right next to the Coors Light sign."

The ball, which left Schwarber's bat at 116.7 MPH, travelled a whopping 462 feet.

Per this story from MLB's social media team, it's the second longest home run this season behind Aaron Judge's 468-foot blast on March 29 against the Milwaukee Brewers

"Schwarber seems to get better every year," one user commented on 'X.'

"Bro cooked that thing like a 4 course meal," another wrote

"The man is not human," someone else added.

Schwarber's round tripper on Tuesday gave the Phillies a 5-3 lead, which was unfortunately squandered over the next three innings; and they lost 7-5.

The 32-year old finished three-for-three on the night, needing only a double for the cycle. Through 10 games this season, Schwarber is off to a hot start slashing .324/.444/.811 with a team-leading five home runs and 11 RBI.

The slugger needs 11 more home runs to become the 163rd player to reach 300 for his career.

Schwarber and the Phillies are back in action tonight against the Braves. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. ET.
