Kyle Tucker Mets Fantasy Impact

Many in the business have been reporting this as coming together: FanSided’s Robert Murray, Will Sammon from the Athletic to name a couple.  The reports suggest that Kyle Tucker is seeking $50 million per season.

Here in New York, we hear that the New York Mets have offered north of $43 million a year for three years.  This will change a lot for Kyle Tucker and for the Mets who lost a power bat in their lineup with Pete Alonso signing with the Baltimore Orioles.

Tucker is the top remaining free agent hitter on the market, and the Mets have been linked to him in multiple reports as they look to revamp their roster and add premium offense at the outfield position.

Kyle Tucker Recent Performance

Kyle Tucker is a four-time MLB All-Star and at 28 years old, one of the most complete hitters available in this free agency cycle. In 2025, playing for the Chicago Cubs, he slashed .266/.377/.464, hit 22 home runs, scored 91 runs, drove in 73 RBIs, and stole 25 bases.

That mix of power, speed, and run production makes him a rare multi-category contributor, and his fantasy value will be high no matter where he signs.  The Mets destination could unlock more counting numbers, but CitiField is a pitchers’ park so expect his batting average to drop 8-10 points.

Why the Mets Need Tucker

New York’s offseason has been a bit unpredictable. The Mets have been “flushing” talent to other teams by letting Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo, and Edwin Díaz leave in free agency. They desperately signed Devin Williams to have a closer.  If they can land Tucker, he’d slot into a potent lineup and immediately become a centerpiece of their offense.

One possible Lineup:

  • SS: Francisco Lindor (S)
  • LF: Juan Soto (L)
  • 1B: Jorge Polanco (S)
  • RF: Kyle Tucker (L)
  • DH: Mark Vientos (R)
  • 2B: Marcus Semien (R)
  • 3B: Brett Baty (L)
  • C: Francisco Alvarez (R) / Luis Torrens (L)
  • CF: Carson Benge (L)/Tyrone Taylor (R)

Runs and RBIs Could Tick Up

One of the biggest drivers of fantasy value is plate opportunities with runners on base. The Mets’ lineup can create more scoring chances than the Cubs did in 2025. That means more runs scored and RBIs for Tucker, two major categories in both rotisserie and points leagues.

The big worry is HEALTH.  With 136 games last year and only 78 the year before, the grind of 8 years in the bigs is starting to take its toll, so bid lightly

What to expect from Tucker?  Expect him to hit 25 home runs and steal more often as the Mets are aggressive on the bases, so maybe 30 stolen bases.

Playing SMART on Tucker

If the Mets land Kyle Tucker in free agency, it’s a fantasy upgrade for both Tucker and the Mets’ offensive outlook. He’ll remain a first-round talent, possibly rising a few spots in drafts as the buzz grows. His multi-category contributions ... especially in runs and power ... make him worth targeting early regardless of landing spot.
