Lauren Shehadi’s career continues to grow, and it is expected to reach a new level in the upcoming 2026 MLB season. After Netflix and the league agreed to a three-year, $150 million deal, the streaming company started working to put together a solid broadcast team.
Netflix made a big move when it landed Elle Duncan from ESPN to lead its sports coverage. Duncan hosted Alex Honnold’s free climbing of Taipei 101 in January, which became a huge success for the company.
They have the rights to WWE’s Monday Night Raw, NFL Christmas games and will exclusively show the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The bar is higher now, as they will add MLB coverage to their portfolio, and Shehadi will have an important role in their plans.
Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported on Wednesday that Shehadi will work at Netflix’s Opening Night game featuring the Yankees vs. Giants in San Francisco on March 25. She will also cover the 2026 Home Run Derby and Field of Dreams Game.
Adding a new commitment to her schedule will make Shehadi one of the busiest people in sports media this year. She co-hosts MLB Network’s MLB Central with Team USA manager Mark DeRosa and Robert Flores.
Additionally, she appears on MLB Network’s special event coverage while contributing to the Hot Stove morning show during weekdays.
Her area of expertise goes beyond the diamond. She will join TNT Sports’ March Madness coverage this month through the regional finals.
Last but not least, she works as a field reporter and host for TBS’ baseball coverage during the postseason.
