The Reds entered the bottom of the ninth inning trailing by a run.
After Spencer Steer singled, Will Benson thought he hit a walk-off home run, but the ball bounced off the left field wall and bounced around in the outfield. Even after admiring it out of the batter's box, Benson was still able to get to third.
Two batters later Noelvi Marte would reach on an error that would score Benson from third and give the Reds their first win of the series.
The Reds moved to 49-47 on the season and will face the Rockies in the rubber match tomorrow in their last game before the All-Star break.
