We took a short break in our Look of the Day series, but last time we talked we were on a three-bet winning streak coming off a cash on the Kansas City Royals team total. Let's pick up right where we left off with our favorite MLB pick for Tuesday's slate.
The Brewers are taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers in a battle between two division-leading NL teams, and these starting pitchers are going in two opposite directions right now.
On one side, Dodgers starter Gavin Stone has been in bad form for more than a month. The right-hander has given up at least six hits in six straight starts, and he's surrendered at least four runs in four of those games. His ERA has gone up from 2.73 to 3.71 in that span. Stone doesn't rack up enough strikeouts, and he's giving up a ton of hard contact of late.
It won't be easy for Stone to get back on track in this matchup, as the Brewers have the second-highest batting average (.294), OPS (.915) and wRC+ (154) in MLB since the start of August.
On the other side, Brewers starter Colin Rea is pitching great recently. The veteran has racked up 30 strikeouts and given up only four earned runs in his last 23.0 innings of work, and the Brewers have won six of his last seven starts.
Mookie Betts's return gives the Dodgers lineup a boost, sure, but Los Angeles still shouldn't be favored in this matchup on the road.
