Look of the Day for 5/24: Starters give F5 bet its value

Jrue Holiday flew over his assist prop on Thursday night to cash our Look of the Day in no-sweat fashion. Let's switch over to the diamond on Friday and go for back-to-back winners to close out the week.

Look of the Day: Chicago Cubs @ St. Louis Cardinals first five under 4.5 (-125 DraftKings)

Cubs at Cardinals, 8:15 p.m. ET

The Chicago Cubs will take on the St. Louis Cardinals in an NL Central battle on Friday night, and we're looking for both starting pitchers to have success early in this game.

Let's start with Shota Imanaga, who's been nothing short of brilliant in his first MLB season. The Japanese phenom is 5-0 with a league-best 0.84 ERA, 2.21 FIP and 0.913 WHIP. Opposing hitters are batting just .200 against Imanaga with a 27.8 percent strikeout rate. He hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of his nine starts, and he's surrendered zero runs in six of them.

This is a solid matchup for Imanaga against a Cardinals lineup that struggles against left-handed pitching. St. Louis ranks 29th in MLB in batting average (.205) and 28th in OPS (.605) against lefties.

On the other side, Miles Mikolas has enjoyed going up against the Cubs throughout his career. In 149 combined plate appearances against Mikolas, current Cubs hitters have a .251 expected batting average and a .287 xwOBA. The Cubs have also been ice-cold at the plate, as they rank dead last in MLB in batting average (.140) and OPS (.427) over the last week. Chicago has scored only nine total runs in its last five games.
