Blake Snell

The Dodgers have place Snell on the 15 day injured list retroactive to April 3rd with left shoulder inflammation. Snell has made two starts with a 1-0 record, a 2.00 ERA, a 2.00 WHIP and four strikeouts. Snell signed in the off season and has only thrown nine innings before making his first trip to the injured list while with the Dodgers.

Matt Sauer

The Dodgers have recalled Sauer from the Oklahoma City Comets today before their game. In 14 games last year with the Dodgers he had a 7.71 ERA and a 2.08 WHIP. In 16.1 innings he struck out nine batters. He has only made one appearance in Triple-A this year. Sauer has a 3.00 ERA, and a 0.67 WHIP in three innings of work.

Summary

While the injury to Snell is not ideal, the Dodgers have a wealth of depth when it comes to their pitching. Unfortunately they have majority of those depth pieces sitting on the injured list. Ohtani still isn’t ready to throw, Tony Goslin, Clayton Kershaw, Gavin Stone, and Emmett Sheehan are all on the injured list.
