The Los Angeles Dodgers have dominated every team they’ve faced in the playoffs so far, and need just four more wins to secure yet another World Series title. Shohei Ohtani was unbelievable in Game 4, beating the Brewers on the mound and in the box. The Dodgers are 9-1 in the playoffs, with their only loss coming against the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 3 of the NLDS.
Los Angeles made quick work of the Milwaukee Brewers, sweeping them to move on to the World Series. Ohtani carried them to a victory in game four, in an astonishing performance. On the mound, Ohtani put together six strong innings, giving up no runs and striking out 10 batters. In the batter’s box, Ohtani hit three home runs, and his second one was hit out of Dodger Stadium.
He became the 11th player in postseason history to hit three homers in one game, and the first to do so while also striking out ten batters in six innings of shutout baseball. With this, they were able to clinch another World Series berth at home and will face the winner of the Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners.
The Dodgers are showing how invincible they can truly be, dominating everyone who stands in their way. Their starting rotation in the NLCS pitched a combined 28.2 innings, giving up two earned runs, nine hits, and striking out 35 batters. Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, and Ohtani have made Manager Dave Roberts’ job a lot easier, considering how shaky their bullpen has been all season long. Not to mention rookie Roki Sasaki, who has been dominant since being put into the closer role.
The Dodgers proved to the world why they should never be counted out, no matter how many obstacles they faced in the regular season. If they win the World Series this year, they will become the first team in Major League Baseball to win back-to-back championships since the New York Yankees in 1998 and 1999.
The Milwaukee Brewers had an incredible season, but ultimately fell short. Pat Murphy did an incredible job managing this season and was able to get the most out of his players. The Brewers were simply outmatched in this series and were unable to compete with the Dodgers’ star power. In all fairness, it’s hard to say that any team in the entire league is capable of stopping the Dodgers right now.
Milwaukee’s offense fell flat, managing to score just four runs in the entire series. No matter how good their pitching staff performed, the offense was nowhere to be found. The Brewers’ approach at the plate was terrible, and they just looked like a completely different team from what we saw in the NLDS and regular season. At least Milwaukee has a lot of young talent to look forward to in the coming seasons, with multiple players putting together great seasons.
Jackson Chourio put together another solid year, batting .276 with 21 home runs, 78 RBI, and a .770 OPS. Chourio will be with Milwaukee for the rest of his professional career, as he’s signed to a long-term contract and won’t hit free agency until 2034. Jacob Misiorowski was one of the biggest storylines in all of baseball this season, making the All-Star team in his first year in the big leagues.
Misiorowski features a high velocity fastball and pairs it with a wicked slider. Misiorowski bounced back in October after struggling in August and September. Pitching in only 66 innings, Misiorowski will look to become a key piece of the starting rotation next year. These are just two of many young players with a lot of promise on the roster, as the Brewers will look to make another run at the title in 2026.
