Names in the News

–3-star CB Antonio Cotman Jr. Life Christian Academy, Colonial Heights, Virginia (#643 nationally, #63 cornerback, and #15 in VA.)

Three-star Virginia cornerback Antonio Cotman Jr . committed to the Virginia Tech Hokies on Sunday. He had been committed to the BC Eagles since July but backed off his pledge on Thursday. Cotman then took an official visit to Blacksburg this weekend before announcing he would be a Hokie. He joins a Virginia Tech class ranked No. 34 overall and sixth in the ACC.

–4-star RB Mark Fletcher, American Heritage High School, Fort Lauderdale, Florida (#243 nationally, #15 running back, and #48 in FL.)

Four-star Florida running back Mark Fletcher committed to the Miami Hurricanes after an official visit this weekend, choosing them over the Florida Gators. He was committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes until backing off his pledge on November 16. Since then, the Hurricanes and Gators have been the teams to beat. Fletcher was in Gainesville last weekend for an official visit with the Gators before going to Coral Gables this weekend and deciding to commit to The U. The Hurricanes class now sits at fourth overall, trailing only the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, and Texas Longhorns.

–4-star LB Dylan Gooden, Our Lady Good Counsel High School, Olney, Maryland (#282 nationally, #34 edge, and #6 in MD.)

Four-star Maryland linebacker Dylan Gooden will stay close to home as he committed to the Maryland Terrapins on Sunday. He is the son of former Major League Baseball Dwight Gooden and chose the Terrapins over the Penn State Nittany Lions, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and Virginia Tech Hokies. Gooden becomes the 23rd commit and second-highest rated player in a Terp's class, ranked No. 36 overall and seventh in the Big Ten.

–4-star DL Dylan Spencer, C.E. King High School, Houston, Texas (#330 nationally, #46 defensive lineman, and #58 in TX.)

Four-star defensive lineman Dylan Spencer has been committed to the Texas Longhorns since March 15. However, the Texas Tech Red Raiders could be on the verge of flipping him. So much so that the 247 Sports Crystal Ball and On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine have going to Lubbock. The On3 RPM has them with a 90.9% of landing him. The Red Raiders currently have the No.23 overall class, which would only rise if they were to flip Spencer. I see this happening soon.

–3-star CB Carter Stoutmire, Prestonwood Christian High School, Plano, Texas (#706 nationally, #72 cornerback, and #115 in TX.)

Three-star Texas Cornerback Carter Stoutmire backed off his pledge from the Arizona Wildcats on Sunday after being committed since June. He chose the Wildcats over the Colorado Buffaloes, Kansas Jayhawks, Mississippi State Bulldogs, North Texas, and Penn State Nittany Lions. However, the Buffaloes and Deion Sanders are the favorites to land him now, as he was in Boulder over the weekend. So he will be a Buffalo sooner rather than later.

–4-star 2024 S Tyshun White, Buford High School, Buford, Georgia (#244 nationally, #22 safety, and #35 in GA.)

Four-star 2024 Georgia cornerback Tyshun White has named his top 13 teams. They are the Auburn Tigers, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, North Carolina Tar Heels, Ole Miss Rebels, South Carolina Gamecocks, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, Tennessee Volunteers, and Virginia Tech Hokies. However, the On3 RPM has the Yellow Jackets with a 26.2% chance of landing him, where he has already been for three unofficial visits.
