The Miami Marlins and Colorado Rockies crossed into embarrassing territory on Monday.
The Rockies beat the Marlins 6-4 at loanDepot Park in Miami, Fla., to earn their 10th win of the season. Several photos taken by reporters at the game showed just how empty the stadium was at game time. The paid attendance was announced as 5,894, but the crowd looked much smaller.

There may have been more staff working at the stadium than fans taking in the game.

Monday’s game was the first in a three-game series between the teams in Miami. The Rockies entered the series at 9-50, which is the worst mark through 59 games in the modern era. It’s no wonder nobody was eager to come out to the park to watch them play.
What’s even more embarrassing for the Marlins is they lost the second game of the series as well. Colorado finally snapped its streak of losing 22 straight series — a streak that stretched back to last year.
