The 2025 MLB season is almost upon us, and so is a crucial year for the Philadelphia Phillies. Fresh off an NL East title but a subsequent loss in the NLDS, the Fightins are once again hunting for Red October and an elusive third World Series championship.

Over the next few days, we'll take you through each player with a chance at making the Phils' active roster and discuss expectations for all of them. Next up is one of the long shots at making the big-league club...

Name: Christian Arroyo

Number: 22

Position: Infield

Throws: Right

Bats: Right

Build: 6'1", 220 lbs.

Age: 29

Acquired: Signed to a minor league contract in February

Socials: Instagram

2024 Stats: Slashed .237/.305/.360 with two home runs, eight doubles, and 12 RBI in just 30 games (114 AB) with Milwaukee's AAA affiliate. He missed most of the year battling injuries. Arroyo last appeared in the majors with the Boston Red Sox in 2023 and is a career .252/.299/.394 hitter.

2025 Projections: Arroyo is a non-roster invite to Spring Training and will almost certainly begin the year with AAA Lehigh Valley. He's on board as injury insurance, which is never a bad thing to have. Remember that shortstop Trea Turner missed six weeks last season, and third baseman Alec Bohm was also sidelined for two weeks late in the year. If another major injury strikes the Phillies' infield, Arroyo is a call-up candidate to provide some temporary relief.
