Meet the 2025 Philadelphia Phillies: RF Nick Castellanos

The 2025 MLB season is almost upon us, and so is a crucial year for the Philadelphia Phillies. Fresh off an NL East title, but subsequent loss in the NLDS, the Fightins are once again hunting for Red October and an elusive third World Series Championship.

Over the next few days, we'll be taking you through each player with a chance at making the Phils' active roster and discussing expectations for all of them. Next up is a feisty outfielder well used to bringing Philly fans to their feet...

Acquired: Signed as Free Agent in 2021-22 Offseason

2024 Stats: Slashed .254/.311./.431 with 23 HRs, 30 doubles, and 86 RBI while starting all 162 games (606 AB). One of only four players in MLB, along with Pete Alonso, Matt Olson, and Marcell Ozuna, to play in every game last season. Castellanos also hit .412 with a homer and three RBI in the NLDS - notably hitting his team-leading fifth walk-off in Game Two.

2025 Projections: Casty only got better at the plate as last summer went along, shaking off a rough start to bat .287 after the All-Star break. He's been an incredibly streaky hitter throughout his Philly tenure, but he plays a very clean right field, with only three total errors over those three years. He should be back out there nearly every day and batting in the middle of the order, continuing to provide another power threat to opposing pitchers.

“I don’t want to say that it is a goal for me to start 162 games,” Castellanos told Lochlahn March of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “It is, however, a goal of mine to be consistent in my work and always put myself in a position to be healthy and help the team.”
