Juan Soto’s first year with the New York Mets ended in disappointment as the organization missed out on the MLB postseason. That outcome, however, was not a reflection of Soto’s individual performance. After signing a 15-year, $765 million contract last offseason, he delivered immediately and lived up to the hype.

The 28-year-old outfielder posted a .263 batting average, .396 on-base percentage, .921 OPS, 43 home runs and 105 RBIs across 158 games. He also led the league in walks for the fourth time in his career with 127, which also set a new Mets franchise record. His ability to get on base and hit for power made him one of the most productive hitters in the league.

With Soto in the middle of the order, the Mets offense ranked among the best in baseball. He provided consistency, patience and game-changing power, helping stabilize the lineup from start to finish.

As a result, Soto was honored by Louisville Slugger on Thursday. He was named a winner of the Silver Slugger Award in the National League alongside Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Kyle Tucker of the Chicago Cubs.

The Mets shared the achievement on X: “Congratulations to Juan Soto for winning the Outfield National League Silver Slugger award! ,” the team wrote.

This marks the sixth Silver Slugger of Soto’s career. The Mets are the fourth organization he has suited up for, following previous stints with the Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres and New York Yankees.

Over eight seasons, he has built an accomplished resume filled with individual accolades, including four All-Star selections and a batting title. That success has also been translated to the team level. Soto was a key piece of the Nationals’ 2019 World Series championship and is now hoping to bring that same championship energy to Queens.

Soto’s offseason focus will now shift to preparing for 2026, where expectations in Queens will be higher than ever. With a full year under his belt and a lineup built around his strengths, the Mets are banking on Soto to lead a deep playoff run. The front office will have key roster decisions to make, aiming to improve the team around him and maximize the prime years of one of baseball’s most complete offensive players.
