The New York Mets have announced a slew of injury updates that have defined their season to this point.
Ahead of their game tonight against the Cincinnati Reds, the Mets announced that they're activating reliever A.J. Minter (left lat strain/hip) and outfielder Jared Young (left meniscus) off the injured list and are optioning Jonathan Pintaro and Nick Morabito to Triple-A Syracuse in their place.
New York also announced that outfielder Tyrone Taylor is being placed on the IL with a right hip flexor strain and is adding infielder Eric Wagaman to their active roster.

Taylor's trip to the IL comes less than 24 hours after he exited Monday's game against the Reds, where he was seen running gingerly to first base on a ground ball. He would come out of the game in the next inning with what the Mets initially called right hip pain.
As for the return of Minter and Young, it's been 13 months since Minter last appeared in a game for New York. After inking a two-year, $22 million deal with the Amazins' in January 2025, the veteran lefty appeared in just 13 games last season before suffering a left lat strain, which required season-ending surgery.
Minter has been on rehab for the Mets since the start of the regular season, which was halted at one point due to left hip discomfort. While his velocity has been down a bit during his two rehab stints, New York is hoping that the 32-year-old can be a reliable back-end reliever they were hoping he would be after signing him.
As for Young, he started this year on the active roster after compiling a strong spring training. Unfortunately, the 30-year-old landed on the IL on April 15 after tearing the meniscus in his left knee, which required surgery.
Prior to his injury, Young was off to a nice start to the season, slashing .350/.391/.450 with two RBI and an OPS of .841 in 11 games. Young is expected to receive the bulk of the playing time at first base after the Mets used a conundrum of options.
The Mets will look to snap their four-game losing streak tonight when they play the middle game of their three-game series against Cincinnati.
