The New York Mets have been keeping some secrets at Citi Field, but those secrets are no more.
In 2023, the Mets officially opened the Cadillac Club at Payson’s, a members-only outfield speakeasy that was secretly built behind the right-field fence. It had largely flown under the radar until now.
The private club is available to 25-30 members with 100 total seats just feet away from the field. Nestled behind that is a longue and speakeasy, which is accessed through a secret tunnel that’s hidden by a framed black-and-white photo of Mr. Met.

“Alex and I are thrilled to honor the legacy of Joan Payson with The Cadillac Club at Payson’s,” Mets owner Steve Cohen said in a statement in 2023. “As the original owner of the Mets and pioneer, Joan has played a significant role in our organization. We’re excited to have created this first-of-its-kind club at the ballpark with a brand like Cadillac that embodies and empowers big dreams and bold ambition.
“The Cadillac Club at Payson’s will combine the rich history of the Mets with unique elements that are reminiscent of classic New York City, providing Mets fans with an experience like no other.”
Although enjoying the speakeasy would be the memory of a lifetime, it comes at a significant price. Tickets cost $19,000 and up, with a platinum membership going for roughly $26,000.
