Coming off of two straight losses to the Washington Nationals, the New York Mets sit 21-28 on the season. However, outfielder Juan Soto is doing everything in his power to get the Mets back on track.
Over his last seven games, Soto has hit .429 with five home runs, nine RBIs and three stolen bases. When he is in the box, the outfielder knows he can make a difference on any swing, via SNY.
Juan Soto was asked what the difference is for him at the plate when he's this locked-in:

Over his first 34 games in 2026, Soto is hitting .299 with nine home runs, 20 RBIs and four stolen bases. He missed time early in the season with a calf strain. And Soto still ranks first on the team in batting average amongst hitters with 12+ games played, first in home runs overall, third in stolen bases and fourth in RBIs. Needless to say, the Mets will be heavily relying on the outfielder as they try to get back into the playoff hunt.
His dangerous approach at the plate is why New York gave Soto a $765 million contract. He came to New York with four All-Star awards and a World Series title to his name. And in his first year with the Mets, Soto hit .263 with 43 home runs, 105 RBIs and a NL-leading 38 stolen bases. His 127 walks led all of baseball.
When it’s all said and done, the Mets are hoping for that kind of production out of Soto again in 2026. The star outfielder is well aware of the expectations placed on his shoulder. But he has no problem with the bright lights and is ready to continue being a threat in the batter’s box.
