The Atlanta Braves season came to an end prematurely in the NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers, losing in four games with the main storyline being Atlanta’s stars failing to come through on the biggest stage.
However, the result would have been much worse without center fielder Michael Harris II, who was the only player who truly thrived in the postseason. The 25-year-old former NL Rookie of the Year hit .407 with 11 hits, four RBIs and a home run across the seven playoff games.
It wrapped up a strong individual finish to what was an excellent season. Harris posted a .294 batting average, .321 on-base percentage, .812 OPS, 26 home runs and 87 RBIs, battling some recurring quad discomfort along the way without letting it slow him down.
If there is any player the Braves can count on next year, it is Harris, and he proved that. Entering 2026, he was coming off a down offensive season, but he came roaring back to re-establish himself as one of the most important players on this roster.
For Harris, the offseason is underway, and as an Atlanta native he is not going anywhere. On Sunday, he shared that he is using his free time to support other major teams in Georgia.
Harris posted to his Instagram story that he was in attendance for the NFL’s Week 5 Sunday Night Football matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and Baltimore Ravens, giving fans a glimpse of his front-row end zone seats while capturing the moment with his six-month-old son and his wife Esther.
Unfortunately the Falcons lost in overtime to the Ravens, but it still marked a special night for Harris and his family. After carrying the Braves on his back in October, he deserved a night in the stands just being a fan.
