The primary reason for the Braves recent run of success has been the turnaround of Michael Harris II. Once the worst qualified offensive player in the league not long ago, Harris has been the best player in baseball since the All-Star break, and he tied Braves franchise history on Saturday night.
Harris had two more hits, including a mammoth 452-foot three-run homer in the club’s 10-1 win over the Guardians. The two hits marked his eighth straight multi-hit game, tying a franchise record he will look to make his own on Sunday. It’s also the longest such streak in the majors this season.

It’s amazing what one small adjustment can do in this sport. Over his last 31 games, Michael Harris is hitting .384 and slugging north of .700 with eight home runs, 10 doubles, and three triples.
This is an entirely different player than the guy we saw in the first half, and with Harris’ resurgence, the Braves offense as a whole has caught fire. It’s likely too late to matter this season, with Atlanta still trailing the Mets by 10 games for the final wild card spot. However, it’s a massive development when looking towards the future. This is an entirely different team when Michael Harris II is playing up to his potential.
