Miguel Rojas appeared to unofficially begin the second phase of his career in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization on Monday by joining the Glendale Desert Dogs for their matchup against the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League.
Anson Aroz Charlas Davalan, Chase Harlan and Eduardo Quintero were Dodgers prospects in the Desert Dog lineup. They were joined by Brooks Auger making the start on the mound. Each of the Dodgers’ Minor League position players had at least one hit in the game.
Glendale fell into an immediate 3-0 deficit but exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Solar Sox
scored eight runs in the sixth inning and added two more in the eighth to hang on for a 13-12 win.

Rojas reporting to Camelback Ranch came on the heels of serving as an MLB correspondent for the first two games of the World Series at American Family Field. The 37-year-old announced his retirement while speaking to the clubhouse after the Dodgers were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Rojas went into the 2026 season with an intention to make it his final year. However, as the season unfolded, the longtime infielder suggested he would return in 2027 if the Dodgers completed an unprecedented three-peat and remained in position to defend their World Series title next year.

He began to soften on that stance amid a readiness to be more present with family and help contribute to the organization in other means.
When Rojas announced he was re-signing with the Dodgers for this season, he mentioned then planning to transition into a player development role. What his specific duties in the Dodgers front office will entail have not yet been fully decided, but it can be reasoned Rojas will spend time at Minor League affiliates to help provide instruction.
It conceivably could be the start of a coaching career that sees Rojas become an MLB manager at some point. Rojas and Enrique Hernández were two players Dodgers manager Dave Roberts identified as likely candidates to fill the role one day.
