Outfielder Mike Trout's 2026 All-Star bid means a little more than his previous 11 appearances.

The future Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Angel was named to his 12th All-Star Game on Saturday, where he was voted by fans as the American League's starting outfielder.

This year, the Midsummer Classic takes place in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park, just an hour outside of Trout's hometown in Millville, New Jersey.

The three-time American League MVP has been very open about his Philly sports allegiance for many years, continuously showing up to Philadelphia Eagles games and sharing his fandom over social media.

This is the first time in Trout's storied career he will be able to play in front of his hometown crowd at the All-Star game, as this is the first All-Star game in Philadelphia since 1996.

It has been a great bounce back year for the 34-year-old. In 74 games played, he is slashing .234/.394/.472, good for a .866 OPS, along with 17 home runs, 36 RBIs and 12 doubles.

Trout’s bid is especially noteworthy because it’s his first since 2023, after spending the last couple of seasons battling injuries.

Trout is currently dealing with a right hamstring strain but is expected to be activated prior to the event.

The All-Star Game takes place at the home of the Philadelphia Phillies, and Mike Trout, on July 14 at 8 p.m.
