Milwaukee Brewers Notch 9th Straight Win With Thrilling Victory Over the New York Mets

The Milwaukee Brewers are the hottest team in Major League Baseball. They needed to be at the top of their game to win this afternoon at home against the New York Mets. Milwaukee overcame a 5-0 deficit and capped off the comeback on a walkoff home run from Left Fielder Isaac Collins. It was Milwaukee’s ninth straight victory.

Collins has been on a heater over his last 10 games. He has 10 multi-hit games, a walkoff home run, and 16 team wins over that span. He joined Yasiel Puig in 2013 as the only other rookie in the modern era (since 1901) to have each of those marks or better over a 20-game span. Milwaukee’s winning streak has included three-game sweeps against the Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves, and New York Mets. Can the Milwaukee Brewers keep it going?

The Milwaukee Brewers have the best record in Major League Baseball by a wide margin. As was on display in this afternoon’s contest, Milwaukee’s offense is one of the league’s best. They are third in batting average and fifth in runs scored. Milwaukee’s pitching staff has also been strong. They are fourth in ERA, eighth in strikeouts, and fourth in opposing batting average.

Final Thoughts

The Milwaukee Brewers will look for their 11th straight win tomorrow when they welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates to town for a three-game series. If the Brewers can continue playing this well, they can represent the National League in the World Series.
