The Minnesota Twins start a three-game series against the New York Yankees tonight. The Twins this month are 5-4, averaging 4.8 runs per game while allowing 3.8 runs per game. Today, they get a boost back to their lineup as they activated outfielder Byron Buxton from the 10-day injured list and optioned outfielder Carson McCusker to Triple-A St. Paul.

Buxton this season in 85 games, has hit .282 with a .905 OPS. He has 14 doubles, four triples, 23 home runs, 59 RBI, 68 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, and 29 walks. He leads the Twins in home runs, RBI, and runs scored despite not having played in 32 games. Buxton hasn’t played since July 26th, missing time due to a rib injury.
McCusker in six games for the Twins, hit .222 with a .444 OPS. In his nine at-bats, he had two hits and struck out five times. In 87 games at Triple-A St. Paul, he hit .245 with a .799 OPS. He had 19 doubles, 19 home runs, 61 RBI, 46 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 30 walks.
