Minor League Transactions: Bodine, Lackey, Isaac Promoted

With the final few weeks of the 2026 Minor League season upon us, some notable prospects have new homes for the stretch run. Caden Bodine and Xavier Isaac are now in Triple-A, while top Twins pick Vahn Lackey is with the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

Rays promote several top prospects

Caden Bodine and Xavier Isaac were promoted to Triple-A Durham.

This is the third promotion that Bodine, a 2025 first-rounder, received this season. He hit .316/.397/.447 with five home runs and 10 extra-base hits over 37 games. Bodine’s been one of the best pure contact hitters in the Minors this season, which has helped him earn 143 total hits before the promotion.

As for Isaac, the Rays first baseman has a well-documented history of high swing-and-miss. However, Isaac has made up for it with walks and home runs. He received 80 free passes, plus hit 24 home runs in the Southern League this season.

Lackey to High-A

Twins catching prospect Vahn Lackey was promoted to High-A Cedar Rapids.

Lackey didn’t hit for a high average with Low-A Fort Myers, as the 2026 first-rounder batted .204. But he wasn’t overwhelmed at the level, as Lackey had five extra-base hits in 15 games and walked 14 times. As noted in our AL Central farm review for August, Lackey had one of the highest take rates in the Florida State League in his few weeks in the circuit.

Other promotions

The Nationals promoted pitchers Jack Cebert and Ben Grable, two of the four pitchers received in the Luis Garcia Jr. trade, to Triple-A Rochester. Grable struck out 70 over 43 innings in Double-A, while Cebert had 92 over 74.1 IP between Harrisburg and Somerset. Additionally, Isaac Lyon was promoted to Triple-A Rochester by the Nationals.

Tigers infield prospect John Peck was promoted to Triple-A Toledo. Peck wasn’t the only notable Tiger to move up, as outfielder Cris Rodriguez was bumped up to Low-A Lakeland after spending the 2026 season in the FCL.

Rockies infielder Roynier Hernandez, who slashed .282/.389/.391 over 92 games with High-A Spokane, was moved up to Double-A Hartford.

Bryce Cunningham, who spent the past two years in High-A Hudson Valley, was promoted to Double-A Somerset.
