It was a big day for several 2026 MLB Draft picks on August 4, including Roch Cholowsky. Cholowsky was among the many prospects assigned their first pro homes on the day. Tyler Bremner, drafted in the first round one year earlier, was one of several Minor Leaguers moved up on the day, as well.
The big news was Roch Cholowsky, the first-overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. Cholowsky was promoted to High-A Winston-Salem and made his pro debut on August 4. He went hitless against the Astros’ High-A affiliate.
He wasn’t the only first-rounder promoted to full-season ball. The Marlins pushed Jacob Lombard, who was drafted out of high school, to Low-A Jupiter.
Arkansas catcher Ryder Helfrick was promoted to Low-A Visalia. Helfrick was a first-rounder by the Diamondbacks in 2026.
Bear Harrison and Tyce Armstrong, two Yankees draft picks, were moved up to Low-A Tampa, while outfielder Dean Toigo was pushed up to High-A Hudson Valley.
The Dodgers promoted former UConn pitcher Charlie West to Low-A Ontario.
The Angels, meanwhile, moved up college picks Jaxon Willits, a 2026 CWS champion with Oklahoma, and former Texas A&M star Gavin Grahovac to Low-A Rancho Cucamonga, two of several moves made by the club on the day.
Tyler Bremner was promoted from High-A Tri-City to Double-A, alongside outfielder Randy De Jesus.
Dylan Jordan was promoted to High-A after a strong year with the Quakes, while Joswa Lugo, who posted an OPS over .900 as a teenager, was moved up to Low-A.
Cam Caminiti, who had a fantastic week with Rome one week earlier, was moved to Double-A Columbus alongside John Gil. Luis Guanipa, meanwhile, was moved up to High-A alongside Connor Essenburg.
Cubs outfielder Kane Kepley was promoted to Double-A Knoxville. The speedster was a second-round pick by the club last July out of UNC.
Dodgers infielder Mairoshendrick Martinus was promoted to High-A Great Lakes after he hit .317 with 15 home runs in the California League this season as a 21-year-old.
Rays pitcher Dominic Fritton, who struck out 111 over 89.1 IP with Low-A Charleston, was promoted to High-A Bowling Green alongside outfielder Brendan Summerhill.
Brayden Taylor, acquired by the Marlins for Liam Hicks, was promoted to Triple-A.
