MLB best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 6/28

"Man I love winning, like it's better than losing"... Do you know that one? Nevertheless, all it took to get back on track was to back the best club in the majors. Atlanta won with ease last night and Austin Riley got that run scored we were looking for. Milwaukee did not come through, but nobody is perfect. Fading the Mets is still a going to be a good idea until it isn't.

As we look to build on yesterday we have mostly a full slate to choose from. There are two day games though and one of those was an Atlanta win over the Twins so we have to look elsewhere.

Let's keep it going.

Winning Days: 16 of 36

In Review: Tuesday, June 27

Atlanta Braves -155 (win)
Shocker, the best team in the league kept winning and with ease.

Milwaukee Brewers +120 (loss)
I still think this was the right play, just a bad result.

Austin Riley Over 0.5 Runs (+100) (win)
Atlanta scored 6 runs in the win last night. Riley contributed.

MLB Picks for Wednesday, June 28

Favorite
San Diego Padres -155 (at Pittsburgh Pirates)

I know, I think I said I would never back the Padres again. This one drew me in though because Blake Snell has found his form again — three straight games with 11 Ks or more and just two ER allowed over his last six starts combined. He should mow down a very light Pittsburgh lineup tonight. The Bucs won last night but they have dipped in June.

Underdog
Houston Astros +100 (at St. Louis Cardinals)

This one barely qualifies with that price, but the only knock on Houston right now is that they are missing their biggest bat — Yordan Alvarez. There is still more than enough offense on this club and Cristian Javier is 7-1 this season including a perfect 3-0 on the road. Fading the Cardinals has been a surprisingly good tactic all season long. St. Louis is 15-22 at home this season and 20-29 as a favorite.

Prop
Blake Snell Over 17.5 Outs +100

Doubling down on doubling down here. Snell has been super effective all month, pitching at least six innings in his last five starts. All we need is for him to get there against one of the lightest-hitting lineups to cash. He can even give up a run, I don't mind.
