The Angels are turning the corner following consecutive road wins at Oakland and Seattle. After rallying past the A's on Sunday, the Halos scratched together another late comeback in Monday's 3-1 triumph over the Mariners with three late runs.

Fortunately for Seattle, Houston lost at Oakland last night, so the Mariners and Astros remain tied atop the AL West standings — although the M's fell to 1-6 in their last seven games.

Here's an Angels vs. Mariners pick, including MLB odds and predictions for July 23.

Los Angeles Angels

Since the beginning of July, the Angels have played 14 of 17 games against division foes. Los Angeles has posted a 6-8 record in these games as four of the victories have come against Seattle.

The last time Jose Soriano faced the Mariners in Anaheim on July 13, the Angels' right-hander allowed a first-inning run before not giving up another run in six innings of a 2-1 victory.

Soriano is responsible for three underdog wins since the start of June as he defeated the Diamondbacks and Padres, along with the one-run triumph over Seattle 10 days ago.

In Soriano's first start against the Mariners this season at T-Mobile Park on May 31, he yielded three runs in the opening inning of a 5-4 defeat. In the first inning of the two outings against Seattle, he has given up four runs but has allowed a total of one run in the other 10 innings.

The Angels were blanked by the Mariners in the home opener prior to the All-Star break, but Los Angeles has limited Seattle to nine runs in the past four meetings, all wins.

From a first five innings perspective, the Halos have slumped to a 3-13-3 record in the past 19 games while getting held to two runs or fewer 14 times.

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners aren't necessarily in a free-fall, but with 60 games remaining, this squad needs to get things turned around.

Injuries are hitting Seattle at the worst time during this cold stretch as center fielder Julio Rodriguez is day-to-day with an ankle injury and shortstop J.P. Crawford sustained a broken pinky finger last night and is headed to the IL.

The offense has been non-existent recently, getting held to two runs or fewer in five of the last six games. Cal Raleigh's first inning RBI single was all the scoring Seattle received in Monday's loss.

Logan Gilbert dominated the Angels the last time he faced them on July 14 by tossing seven scoreless innings and striking out nine batters. However, Seattle's bullpen couldn't hold a 2-0 lead as Los Angeles rallied for three runs in a 3-2 win, forcing the Mariners to fall to 1-2 in Gilbert's three starts prior to the All-Star break.

Gilbert has been impressive in the first five innings by not allowing a run in six of his last seven outings. Meanwhile, Seattle has cashed the under in 16 of the right-hander's 20 starts in the first five this season.

Keep an eye on the outs prop for Gilbert this evening, which is listed at 18.5. This number is heavily shaded to the under, although the All-Star has topped this number in his last two trips to the mound.

At home, Gilbert has finished under 18.5 outs in his past two starts against the Orioles and Twins.

Angels vs. Mariners

Betting Pick & Prediction

The Mariners are riding a 7-1-1 run in the first five innings of the last nine games when scoring at least one run.

Considering how much the Angels have started slowly recently and Gilbert's dominance in the first five innings, let's back Seattle at -0.5 halfway through the game.

Pick: Mariners F5 -0.5 (-115) — Play to -120
