MLB Fan 'Marlins Man' Threatens StubHub With Lawsuit

Marlins Man, a longtime MLB fan whose real name is
Laurence Leavy, is one of the most recognizable fans in the sport at this point. The Miami Marlins fan is known for sitting right behind home plate at games across the country, rocking his easy-to-spot orange hat and jersey.

The longtime MLB fan has been sitting behind home plate at Marlins games and other MLB games for several years now. He’s been at World Series games, All-Star games, World Baseball Classic games and more.

Few MLB fans, if any, have as much experience as he does when it comes to getting tickets – and good ones.

But Marlins Man is not happy with StubHub. The famous MLB fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to threaten the ticket site with a lawsuit, after going through some trouble over the weekend.

Marlins Man said that he had to spend an hour on the phone with a StubHub representative, after having an issue with tickets.

“I just spent 1 hour on phone arguing with @stubhub supervisor that i was not sent tickets that i ordered Wrong row and seat numbers. The seat numbers listed DO NOT EXIST stubhub REFUSES to honor their guarantee,” he shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Marlins Man is now threatening StubHub with a possible class action lawsuit.

“Has this happened to others,” he asked. “Class action and punitive damages??”

Marlins Man is far from the first person to go through an issue with a secondary tickets website – and he won’t be the last.

Sites like TicketMaster, StubHub, etc. often face criticism from fans for their fees and their prices, but ultimately, it’s an issue across the United States.

As long as secondary markets are allowed to exist, fans are going to complain about these situations.
