The MLB season has come to an end and free agency has taken over. We are going to see teams make multiple changes to their 40-man rosters as clubs reshape lineups and payrolls, but on Thursday, the awards beat went on and Juan Soto has done it again.

He was named a National League Silver Slugger as an outfielder for the New York Mets, continuing a run of elite offensive seasons that now includes his sixth Silver Slugger.

The award, voted on by major-league managers and coaches and presented to the top offensive player at each position in both leagues, recognizes overall offensive value. NL winners were released on Thursday. Major League Baseball said the American League winners will follow on Friday.

Soto’s 2025 numbers underline why he won. In his first season with the Mets, he produced a career-high 43 home runs, posted an MLB-leading 127 walks and finished with a .921 OPS. Soto’s six career Silver Sluggers have come with four franchises: Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres, New York (Yankees) and now the Mets.

With this feat, Soto joins Mike Hampton, a former left-handed pitcher, as the only players to have won three straight Silver Sluggers while doing so in different uniforms.

The complete winners list includes Pete Alonso (first base), Ketel Marte (second), Manny Machado (third), Geraldo Perdomo (shortstop), Corbin Carroll and Kyle Tucker (other outfield recipients), rookie catcher Hunter Goodman, designated hitter Shohei Ohtani and utility winner Alec Burleson.

Winners of the 2025 World Series, Los Angeles Dodgers were named the NL Offensive Team of the Year.
