The Los Angeles Dodgers are known for shuffling players and adding new talent . The franchise made two big signings this offseason to bolster their offense and defense. They brought in Edwin Diaz and Kyle Tucker and are to change things again.
The Dodgers don’t hold on to struggling players. They try to move on to keep a winning mindset. Michael Conforto is a perfect example. The club never bothered to give him an offer after his miserable season.
It’s also worth noting that they don’t hesitate to designate players for assignment. Recently, the franchise DFA’d veteran pitcher and fan-favorite, Anthony Banda. However, the latest rumors suggest that the team wants to part ways with Banda.

Anthony Banda had a limited performance with the Dodgers in 2025. He finished with a 5-1 record and a 3.19 ERA. Banda threw close to 50 innings, but this time in LA seems to be drawing to an end.
Banda was off the team’s roster after he was sent down for assignment. The team opened a spot for Ben Rortvedt on their 40-man roster. Rortvedt was claimed off waivers, and the Dodgers have a limited time to deal with Banda.
The club will either need to trade him or place him on outright or unconditional release waivers in the next seven days. That said, it’s a tough call for the pitcher. The Dodgers don’t seem to be bringing back Anthony Banda for now.
If the pitcher clears the waivers, he could either become a free agent or go down to the minors. That said, it makes sense for the team to trade Banda before the regular season approaches. It’s a tough blow for Banda, but many teams would try to get a veteran reliever, especially since he’s light on his feet.
