MLB strikeout props 4/22: Try these plus-money props on for size

We capped off last week with another 2-1 mark in strikeout props on Friday, bringing our hot streak to 13-4 in the last 17 picks. We don't plan on slowing down, so let's get to our three favorite K props for Monday's MLB slate.

Austin Gomber over 3.5 Ks (+125 DraftKings)

Padres vs. Rockies, 8:40 p.m. ET

This is a scary bet considering Austin Gomber has an unimpressive 9.6 percent strikeout rate in 104 matchups against current San Diego Padres hitters, per Baseball Savant, but this number is too low. The Colorado Rockies left-hander has gone over 3.5 Ks in three of his four starts this season. He has a 24.1 percent whiff rate and a 20.5 percent K rate, his best marks since 2021. The Padres are striking out in only 19.8 percent of their at-bats this season, but that number rises to 22.7 percent against lefties.

Jared Jones under 6.5 Ks (+104 FanDuel)

Brewers vs. Pirates, 6:40 p.m. ET

Speaking of scary bets, who's interested in fading the best strikeout artist in MLB this year? No one? Well, too bad. Jared Jones has recorded at least seven Ks in all four of his starts, and he ranks No. 1 among qualified pitchers in whiff rate (39.0 percent) and chase rate (41.2 percent). If any team can solve the hard-throwing rookie, though, it would be a Milwaukee Brewers lineup that ranks second in the league in chase rate and wOBA. The Brewers will be patient with Jones, and they can jump on the juicy fastballs he consistently leaves over the plate.

Ryan Weathers over 4.5 Ks (-128 FD)

Marlins vs. Braves, 7:20 p.m. ET

Ryan Weathers has been a rare bright spot for the Miami Marlins to start the season. The left-hander is on pace to record career-high marks in strikeout rate (24.7 percent), whiff rate (31.0 percent), chase contact rate (44.8 percent) and zone contact rate (76.8 percent). The Atlanta Braves obviously have a dangerous lineup, but they also rank 29th in MLB in zone contact rate and 28th in whiff rate this year. Weathers can force a ton of swings and misses in this matchup.
