The Pittsburgh Pirates just can't seem to catch a break - on and off the field.

Last week, a man named Kavan Markwood fell onto the field at PNC Park after leaning over the 21-foot Clemente Wall in right center field. He was admitted to Allegheny General Hospital and was listed in critical condition. Thankfully, it was recently reported that he has made "significant progress" in his recovery.

A few days later, a fight involving a gameday employee for the Pirates occurred at PNC Park.

Footage of an employee throwing hands with a fan surfaced on social media. It starts off with the gameday worker connecting on a few haymakers before people at the stadium step in and try to defuse the situation.

Unfortunately, the fan involved in this fight had no interest in letting cooler heads prevail. Instead, he started spitting blood on the worker.

According to CBS, this altercation started because this unruly fan and his friend allegedly started harassing a woman at a concession stand.

"The game day employee intervened, sources said, diverting the two men away from the concession stand employee," the report from CBS states. "Eventually, their exchange became heated, and the game day employee is seen in a video trying to walk away several times before the fan follows and continues taunting him until punches are thrown."

Judging by the reactions on social media, MLB fans appear to be siding with the gameday employee.

The Pirates have addressed this situation, releasing a statement about their employee's behavior.

"We are aware of the unfortunate incident that occurred following the conclusion of yesterday's game between a PNC Park game day employee and a guest," the Pirates said. "The employee's behavior was entirely unacceptable."

An investigation into this situation has been launched. We'll see how long it takes for the Pirates to figure out who was at fault here.
