MLB's Biggest 2025 Home Hitting Splits
USA TODAY Sports

One-third of the way through the marathon MLB season, it's time for a quick study on who's more likely to succeed when sleeping in their own bed.

Without the space or bandwidth to do an all-out research paper, I just needed a single stat to describe an offense. My nerd-brain went to xwOBA first (shocker), then thought maybe OPS was the answer. So of course I tested the two for correlation and found that r=.823 — significantly weaker than I expected. Instead of choosing, I wound up adding them together and honestly, after seeing the top six overall in order (LAD, NYY, CHC, ARI, NYM, PHI) it left me satisfied.

Roughly sixty games in the regular season, I was curious which offenses performed best at home compared to on the road.

LAGHEZZA'S LEAN:

A small handful of elite lineups will produce regardless of venue, so don't overreact to the Dodgers topping the list. However, teams like COL, TOR, HOU, SF, BAL, and PIT rank outside the top 10 overall but inside the top 10 at home — worth extra attention for potential trend continuation.
