MLB's Mike Trout Post Prompts Reactions About Angels Superstar's Health

Los Angeles Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout is easily one of the greatest players of his generation – and of all time. But one knock on Trout in his MLB career is his ability to stay healthy.

Trout has not played in more than 82 games in any of the previous five seasons, during which he averaged only 63.8 games. That even includes his 119-game season in 2022. In 2024, Trout appeared in only 29 games, as he was shut down for the remainder of the campaign in August after suffering his second torn meniscus injury that year

Trout is expected to return to action in 2025, with MLB sharing FanGraphs’ statistical projections for the 11-time All-Star and three-time American League Most Valuable Player.

Fans, however, appear concerned about whether Trout could stay healthy and play enough games to reach those numbers. Others have also made jokes about Trout’s well-documented injury issues.

“Need a full healthy season to remind everyone he’s the best in baseball again,” said a fan.

“He’s gonna hit 30 for 30 in 10 games then out for the year,” an Instagram user commented.

From a different commenter: “The 29 games we get to see Trout every year are truly special”

“The 29 games we get to see Trout every year are truly special,” another social media user shared.

“Please God protect this man!” another shared.

“So you’re saying he’s only missing 60 games this year,” chimed in a fan.

The 33-year-old Trout hit .220/.325/.541 in 2024 to go with 10 home runs and 14 RBIs. He also managed to steal six bases and draw 16 walks, which helped boost his OBP despite a poor batting average. The Angels need more than just 29 games from Trout, as they look to end an ongoing playoff drought. Los Angeles has not been to the postseason since 2014, with their last playoff win occurring way back in 2009.
